About Eric von Lockhart

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website. If a picture is worth a thousand words then this website speaks volumes about my work. 

I'm a photographer-filmmaker specializing in beauty, hair and fashion imagery.  I shoot models, celebrities and VIPs (like Beyoncé, Nick Cannon and Hillary Clinton to name a few) for advertising, editorial, public relations and PSA projects.  I've earned a reputation of excellence as a lighting director and for capturing those difficult, detailed, close-up and intriguing shots. I work with a team of professionals like myself that will help you build your message and tell your story.  We produce studio and location photo shoots, infomercials, website videos, social networking videos and product instructional videos.

My photographs have appeared in Elle, Ebony, Essence, Glamour, InStyle, Marie Claire, Vogue, and in hundreds of beauty, hair and fashion magazines, websites and blogs around the world.

My work has also been on exhibit at the American Museum of Natural History and various art galleries in New York City. I've been featured on celebrity shoots by BET, CNN and MTV. I occasionally judge model and photography competitions as well as lecture on beauty and fashion photography. I train and mentor a small group of young and talented photographers who really make my day!

I work with the best beauty and fashion professionals in the business; without whom my work would not be possible. I'm often asked by my clients to recommend makeup, hair and fashion professionals or to put together the entire team.  I have good working relationships with top model agencies as well as freelance models, and can arrange a model casting on short notice.

I'm based in NYC and Los Angeles and staffed and equipped to travel anywhere in the world. 

My rates are competitive for commercial, editorial and publicity projects and I'm willing to work with any reasonable budget. For PSAs, I'm interested in donating my services to approved Ad Council campaigns and to other worthy 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations as my time allows.  I offer affordable packages and group rates to beauty professionals, up-and-coming actors and entertainers, models, the media and business owners who need eye-catching images and videos for social media. 

I'm a comedienne (so I've been told) who enjoys making my clients chuckle during their shoot. They call it, "The Eric von Lockhart Experience." After 30+ years in business, I've learned that a cheerful client and team produce better images.
